Week 5: Gwynedd and Anglesey Summer Netball League – Bethesda give Panthers great test

Bethesda continue to show great improvement in DIVISION ONE of the Hogan Gwynedd and Anglesey Summer Netball League.
The Ogwen Valley side put up a fine performance last Wednesday in a 23-19 loss to Summer League top division champions Pwllheli Panthers.
Pesda never trailed by more than four at the end of any quarter. The first went 7-4 to Pwllheli, who took the second 6-5. Bethesda won the third 5-4 and were pipped 6-5 in the last.
More displays like this will see Pesda soon turning those close defeats into wins.
Panthers made it five wins out of five and lead the table by four points from Arfon, who lost their 100% record in a 30-22 loss to Menai Mavericks.
Gwenno Pritchard was a stand out player for Mavericks, with Kathryn Caine in excellenr form for Arfon.
Walis Bryncoch overcame Primos 33-22, while Dyffryn triumphed 25-21 over Brynrefs, for whom Leila Williams had a fine match.
Dolgellau produced a powerful show in beating Tim o Walis 36-19.

In DIVISION TWO, table-toppers Rebals Refail kept their perfect record with a 34-10 success over Walis Warriars, Non Jones a shining light for the winners, while Pwllheli Hustlers also made it four wins on the bounce, seeing off Ffestiniog 27-13.
Walis Tomos Parry edged a 27-25 decision over Thundercats, Nia Tomos in fine fettle for the winners, while Porthmadog produced a big last quarter to beat Kittens 25-22, turning a 20-16 deficit into a 25-22 victory.
Mared Brychan had a tremendous game for Genod Walis in a 33-8 win against Bethesda Bach.
