Llandudno pulled off a stunning three-run win over St Asaph to set up a meeting with Mochdre in the North Zone 2 final.

Having celebrated a first league victory of the season on Saturday, Tudno followed up with a superb result over match favourites Saints at The Oval.

Llandudno won the toss and elected to bat, setting 152-8 off 20 overs.

Elliott Hughes (34) and Jamie Grimshaw (31) put on 58 for the opening wicket, while Ethan Hill added a useful 24 in the middle order.

For the visitors, Dan Evans took 3-25 against his former club, William Norman picked up 3-35 and Mathew Ryan 2-24.

In response, Asaph captain William Ryan led the charge with 78 off 61 balls, hitting 11 fours, but he was lacking productuve partners until Deshawn Toppin joined him and the pair formed a 48 stand for the fifth wicket.

When William Ryan was out caught off Grimshaw, Saints were 133-5, and although Toppin remained not out on 24, the visitors fell three short on 149-5 at the end of 20.

Jack Rimmington took 2-23 and Tom Thornton 2-26 for the jubilant hosts.
