CPDM Y Felinheli sensation Catrin Beech lands top goalkeeping award!

Congratulations to goalkeeper Catrin Beech of CPDM Y Felinheli – Adran North Golden Glove winner for 2023-24.
The 18-year-old talent will receive her accolade at the National League Awards evening in Cardiff on June 8.
Catrin made her senior debut for Y Felinheli against Cardiff Met in the Welsh Cup in February 2022 and has been regular first team keeper virtually ever since.
She has made 47 appearances for the senior side across league and cup, as well as regularly representing the under-19s.

Catrin has won the NWCFA Women’s Challenge Cup in successive seasons with Felin, also helping guide the team to a brilliant third place in the Adran North this term.
This season saw the Caernarfon teenager keep five clean sheets in the league and nine in all competitions.
CPDM Y Felinheli manager Aaron Jones-Evans paid the following tribute to his goalkeeper.
“Catrin joined us as an evergreen 16 year old with plenty of potential. Due to our long serving goalkeeper Sioned Hughes-Williams leaving the club she was fast tracked to the first team.
“As a manager you always worry about development when you fast track a player at a young age as the League is very competitive and physical, but my worries were put at ease after a couple of minutes of her debut, she was thrown in at the deep end, and even at her age she was ready and she was superb.
“Calm, decisive and commanding, not to mention her shot stopping ability. What more does a coach want from a player?

“Catrin’s dedication to this club is second to none, she has never missed a training session in the years she’s been at the club, not one session, and this season has played every single minute of every single game.
“Her hunger to learn and progress and improve is a real example of who she is as a person and the goals she has as a goalkeeper are very calculated, I will personally help her as much as I can to reach them goals because she deserves to get to the top, she certainly has the potential and drive to do so.
“Catrin isn’t just a great goalkeeper she is also brilliant with her feet, so much so that last season Catrin played for us at Centre Back, Right Back and as a Striker, unbelievable.
“She is an absolute gem for this football club and we are so proud and glad that she is a part of it and at last she is getting the recognition she deserves.
“The sky’s the limit for her and what will help is how down to earth she is and just generally a lovely likeable person, as I’ve mentioned prior, she will reach the top, no doubt in our minds.”
