NORTH WALES CRICKET LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION – MATCHDAY TWO – MAY 11, 2024

Mochdre (15) 310-10 Denbigh (0) 190-10

Opener Alex Davies hit a career best 166 as Mochdre completed back-to-back maximum points successes to start the 2024 season.

Davies struck 19 fours and three sixes in his 131-ball effort which delivered his fourth ton for the first team.

Mochdre made the most of being put into bat as Australian ace Marcus Mangiameli (16) and Davies put on 86 for the first wicket.

Adam Campion (28) and captain Joe Chaplin (26) made useful contributions, but Davies took centre stage as the hosts innings ended on 301 in the final over.

Sam Lewis claimed 4-49 and Harrison Jones 3-55 for the visitors.

Matty Humphreys then scooped 4-36 and Mangiameli 3-37 as Mochdre sent Denbigh packing for 190, Chris Stead 43, Andy Clarke and Joe Clayton 32 apiece and new opener James Du Toit posting 29.

Bangor (3) 170-10 Menai Bridge (12) 214-9

Left-arm spinner Ashley Wood all but finished off Bangor with a four-wicket burst as Menai Bridge claimed the first derby honours of the new season.

The Anglesey visitors won the toss and chose to bat, Jack Gower (29) and Dion Holden (23) putting on 51 for the opening wicket.

Bridge slumped to 61-4 before Rob Smith (51) and Robbie Jones (49) formed a stand of 88 for the fifth wicket, helping the islanders set an eventual 214-9 off 50 overs, Blade Crane 29 not out down the order.

Franco Kasner picked up 4-49 and Owen Reilly 2-33 for the hosts.

In reply, Bangor were in with a shout at 143-6, but then Wood applied the late punishment to see the Citizens dismissed for 170.

Reilly was last man out for 38, skipper Robert Marshall adding 37 and Kasner 31.

Wood pocketed 4-37 and Holden 3-35 for the winners.

Gresford (0) 110-10 St Asaph (15) 225-8

Robbie Prior struck 60 not out, while openers Dan Evans (58) and Will Norman (44) put on 69 as champions St Asaph made a winning 225-8 off 50 overs after electing to bat at Clappers Lane.

Chris Ellwood (2-33) and Tom Crewe (2-36) were the most successful bowlers for Gresford, who were then skittled out for 110, Robert Clarke 39 and skipper Ellwood 27, Norman bagging 4-37 and Danny Ryan 3-19 for the triumphant Saints.

Ben Beaver (78), Elliot Colclough (44) and Pete Pienaar (32) provided the best of the batting in Northop’s total of 223-9, having won the toss and opted for first knock.

Iroshan Da Silva collected 3-36, Lewis Cole 2-19 and Daniel Jones 2-27 for the home side.

Park were then rolled over for just 92 in 30.2, Cole topping the chart with 33, Ashraf Nawan poaching 3-21, Romano Franco 3-24 and Charlie Collins 2-20 for the dominant visitors.

Llandudno (0) 50-10 Brymbo (15) 51-0

Skipper Daniel Parry grabbed 4-4 in 5.2 overs as his Brymbo side blew away Llandudno at The Oval.

Tudno were made to regret choosung to bat as their innings lasted just 20.2 overs for 50 all out, their sole double-figure merchant Divya Pratap Singh (17).

Adam De Rycke took 2-13 and Connor Davies 2-19 for the Steelmen, who then breezed to 51-0 in 15.1 overs, James Claybrook 35 not out.
