Cymru North have a tough task on their hands trailing 2-0 entering the second leg of their Uefa Regions Cup clash with Cymru South on Sunday.
Tîm Rhanbarthol Cymru Y De (South) claimed a 2-0 victory over Tîm Rhanbarthol Cymru Y Gogledd (North) in the first leg of the play-off at Denbigh Town’s Central Park last weekend.
Goals from Cam Strinati and Alex Bonthron earned the win for Andy Hill’s side, who are now in pole position to represent Tîm Rhanbarthol Cymru in the UEFA Regions’ Cup intermediate round.
Cambrian & Clydach Vale full-back Strinati gave the South Walians the perfect start with an early strike.
Bonthron was always going to be a player to watch in these play-offs after he claimed this season’s JD Cymru South golden boot with 30 league goals and he headed home a second for Hill’s team early in the second half.
There is now work to do for Nathan Leonard’s North Wales side when they travel to Trefelin for the second leg on Sunday 12 May (KO 14:30).
