NWCFA Development League – good victories for Bow Reserves and Llysfaen Development

NWCFA DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE – REPORTS, MARCH 17

CPD Llanberis Development 1 (D Roberts pen 90+1)

Jenson Wold struck twice as Bow Reserves recorded an impressive victory at Bastion Gardens.

The home side said a big thank you to Chris Dean from Prestatyn Town, who met Bow club members at 8.30 am Sunday to work on the pitch and get the game on.

Bow were sloppy for the first 20 minutes or so, but gradually grew into the match.

Starting with a one up-top formation, the hosts changed their shape and created chances, winning a penalty which Barry Roche actually converted twice, the referee ordering a retake after the first successful kick. Half-time: 1-0.

A couple of substitutions made Bow stronger for the second half.

Josh Lally squared across the box to the 17-year-old Wold, who made it 2-0 on the hour.

Wold was brilliant all through and went on to make it three for the hosts, keeper Connor Hughes with the assist.

Deio Roberts converted a late spot-kick for Llanberis, but this was Bow’s day with Lally and Wold the men of the match.

Prestatyn Wanderers Reserves 2 (Garrett 2)

Good win for Llysfaen secured by a Lee Jenkins own goal and Joey Benjamin strike in the first half, followed by Lee Fallas and Harry Davies finding the net after the break.

Ashley Garrett scored both for the visitors on 70 and 80 minutes.

Llysfaen manager’s comments: “A game that was a lot closer than it should’ve been. We had plenty of opportunities to put the game to bed. We didn’t play our best football but I’m happy with the result.

“We know what we need to work on. Credit to Prestatyn who were full tilt from the off, I’d have just liked to see us get out of second gear.”
