Let’s meet Caernarfon Town women’s weekend hat-trick star – Amber Brown!

She has only just turned 17 but Amber Brown is already making her mark in the North Wales Women’s Football League.
Last Sunday, Amber scored a hat-trick as the Cofis stunned second-place Llangefni Town with a 5-3 away victory in the NWWFL West Division.
Here is a quick Q & A we conducted with Amber about her weekend heroics
Firstly, how did it feel to score your first senior hat-trick at the weekend?
It felt amazing to score my first hat-trick for the team, definitely after the last game we played against them (a 7-1 loss). It was the best feeling celebrating with all my teammates.
Most people were surprised you beat Llangefni (except Caernarfon – I’m sure you all believe in yourselves!) Did you all feel you had a big result like this in you this season?
Yes, we were all ready before the game. We knew we could do it if we kept our heads up. I was very confident in my team and my teammates that we could get this big result !

How do you feel the season has gone overall for Caernarfon Town women?
I think we’ve had a very good season, definitely the big win last weekend. Could’ve done better in some games, but it only made us stronger and I’m very proud.
Who did you play for as a junior?
I played for the under-17’s Caernarfon Merched with Tania (Jones), had an amazing time but I think moving to this team was a great choice, it’s more challenging and I get along with the girls a lot as well.
What are the best trophies/medals you have won in football so far?
My favourite trophy I’ve won in football is probably the Manager’s Player last season.

What are your main strengths as a player?
I think my main strengths as a player are that I’m strong and can keep the ball well. I back myself with my close control and composure on the ball and believe I have the skill to beat a player 1v1. I’m a team player and can talk with everyone on the pitch .

Do you play any sports in the summer when the football season is over? If not, what do you enjoy doing in the summer months?
I don’t play any other sport in the summer, i enjoy going out with my friends and having the best time while also keeping turning up to training and having fun with the best people .
What are your hopes for the future as a footballer?
Keep on playing football and develop as a player. Hopefully to further my career or even stay with the same team as now.
