Kelsey Davies makes it back-to-back hat-tricks as leaders Llandudno bang in eight

Kelsey Davies made it back-to-back hat-tricks as Llandudno completed a seventh league win in a row to maintain a three-point lead at the summit.
This was also a second consecutive 8-3 triumph for Tudno, who have amassed 40 goals in that run of seven victories.
Despite having two of their leading scorers missing today in Stevie Donougher and Ella Jones, the Seasiders still came up with plenty of goals.
Llandudno had an early goal ruled out for offside before Llanfair grabbed a surprise 15th minute lead through long-serving defender Mary Bailey.
Ffion Owen levelled the contest with a volley from just inside the area on 20 minutes and the same player soon made it 2-1.
Jasmin Dutton’s strike made it three goals in nine minutes for the visitors and Davies notched a fourth before the break.
Early in the second half there was some cause for concern in the away camp as a pair of quick goals from Emma Williams and Becky Jones reduced the deficit to 4-3 with 62 minutes gone.
However, that was as close as Llanfair got to the leaders, who upped a gear from that point.
Davies’ second made it 5-3 on 69 minutes and it was almost six when Maddie Williams fed a lovely ball to Davies, who rounded the keeper, but her effort was cleared off the line.
However, former Wales international Davies did complete her treble in the 81st minute, also making it 14 goals for the season.
Llandudno were not finished, as an added-time spot-kick from Dutton made it 7-3 and Maddie Williams got on the scoresheet before the final whistle.
Llandudno assistant-manager Billy Fuller said after the game: “With a couple of forwards just not quite match ready we still set out quietly optimistic against Llanfair.
“Llanfair like to play expansive football and they stick to their principles which is great to see. After 20 minutes we changed our shape slightly to stretch the opposition more and create space to showcase our identity.
“We had the majority of the possession but unfortunately we missed chance after chance with several chances either being missed, keeper making a great save or a goal line clearance.
“Llanfair struck an excellent free kick and scored another 2 on the counter which has become an unwanted habit of our season.
“Thankfully we had enough firepower to outscore an enterprising opponent but it has to be said that after 3 weeks without a game, it showed.
“Llandudno worthy winners but need to be more controlled in possession and we have to finish better than today.”
