NORTH WALES WOMEN’S LEAGUE WEST
Trearddur Bay 0 Amlwch Town 6
Report: Steve Roberts
Ellie Jones notched a hat-trick to move up to 12 goals for the season as Amlwch strengthened their grip on third spot with a commanding win over Trearddur Bay.
There was an early kick-off for Sunday’s game, which was switched to Ysgol Syr Thomas Jones in Amlwch as the Lon Isallt pitch was unfit.
The first 10 minutes were a bit scrappy as the island sides sussed each other out.
Then on 11 minutes Bethan Jones spread the ball wide to Ellie Jones who controlled and smashed it home.
The rest of the half was non-descript with a few half chances, otherwise it was a constant midfield battle.
Amlwch would hope to take advantage of the wind in the second half and add to their single goal.
Half-time: Trearddur Bay 0-1 Amlwch Town
The first 10 minutes of the second half continued like the first with only a few half-openings created.
The introduction of Tesni Hughes for Amlwch started to pay dividends as she began to take on the Trearddur Bay defence and carve out opportunities.
On 57 minutes, Hughes won the ball in midfield, laid it off to Cerys Gadd, who played a delightful pass through to Ellie Jones and she finished coolly into the corner for her second.
A couple of minutes later the ball broke loose to Gadd 25 yards out and she hit a beautiful curling shot into the top corner. 3-0 and Amlwch now in control.
In the 65th minute, Ellie Jones broke down the right, crossed for Tesni Hughes, who laid it off for the oncoming Emma Roberts and she finished nicely for her eighth goal of the campaign.
Trearddur Bay continued to battle with Ash Jones and Freya Davies involved in most of their good work.
However, after 80 minutes Tesni Hughes got the goal she deserved. Emma Roberts found substitute Glesni Griffiths on the wing. Her cross picked out Hughes who finished in her usual style.
Three minutes later it was Griffiths again providing the assist as she laid the ball off to Ellie Jones who netted from 20 yards to complete a great hat-trick.
Llangefni Town 5 Llanystumdwy 2

Four-goal hero Jess Jones boosted her total this season to 37 from just 17 appearances in another wonder show from the teenager at Cae Bob Parry.
It took Llangefni 38 minutes to break the deadlock against a stubborn Llanystumdwy, Jess Jones applying the finish from an Ellie Coulson assist.
Three minutes later, the visitors were level when 17-year-old Efa Glyn Jones netted, Heledd Savage setting her up.
Cefni were not stunned for long, Jones making it 2-1 a minute later, then Catrin George found the target from a Hannah Owen assist to establish a two-goal lead for the hosts at the break.
Llanystumdwy were not finished as 11 minutes into the second half Efa Glyn Jones completed a double, Ana Lois White with the assist.
Again, however, Town did not allow their opponents time to think they were right back in the game, as Owen tted up Jones for her seventh hat-trick of the season.
The 18-year-old made it 5-2 on 81 minutes, Jess making it the FIFTH occasion she has recorded a four-goal haul this term.
CPD Pwllheli 9 Caernarfon Town 0

Pwllheli are one point from the league title after making it eight wins out of eight with a nine-goal beating of Caernarfon at The Rec.
Six points clear of Llangefni at the summit with both sides having played eight matches, a draw from either of their last two fixtures will present Pwll with the magic total of 25 points.
With Llanystumdwy (away) and Trearddur Bay (home) to face, it looks a fair bet that the Llŷn Peninsula may end the season with a 100 percent record, but nothing in football can be taken for granted.
Two standout performances featured in Sunday’s goal-packed victory – a quadruple from Jini Owen Hughes and hat-trick inside the first 12 minutes from the returning Magi Hughes, back in the line-up after a six-week absence.
Hughes certainly started like she was delighted to be in action again, scoring on one, three and 12 minutes, Lois Thomas and Owen-Hughes among the assists.
That was the end of the first half scoring, Caernarfon settling and making more of a match of it.
However, the suffering was to return for the visitors in the second half.
Lois Thomas put away her 14th goal this term on 53 minutes, then it was time for the Jini Owen Hughes show.
The 17-year-old netted on 57, 82, 89 and 90+2 minutes to make it 17 goals in her last eight matches, Stacey Sansome, Katie Bowe and Thomas (2) helping with the assists.
There was still time for one more Pwllheli goal, sub Keely Jones rounding off the scoring in the 93rd minute.
