Ceri Purvis’ 22nd goal of the season was probably her most important – a 95th minute winner for Denbigh which keeps them well on course for a second-place finish in the East league.
It was a dramatic end to a game at Central Park where Kinmel Bay led until the 72nd minute.
Bay threatened first when Lucy Perry ran through to be denied by Young’s save before putting the rebound over from close range.
After 25 minutes the deadlock was broken. A superb cross from the right from Seren Williams was met by Chloe Scanlan, who finished well past the goalkeeper.
Kinmel Bay were on top in the first half but couldn’t muster a second to give themselves breathing space.
Half-Time: Denbigh Town 0-1 Kinmel Bay
Denbigh applied pressure in the second half but the game was lacking any real clear cut chances.
However, with 18 minutes to play it sprang back to life via substitute Sophie Bancroft.
Her corner was returned to her on the left and the replacement, who had only been on for three minutes, launched the ball towards the back post and found the net.
Suddenly Town looked dangerous, Lowri Claybrook going close with a volley five minutes before time that flashed just wide.
Deep into stoppage time came the decider. Purvis was played through and one-on-one she kept her composure to slot the ball home and hand Denbigh a much-needed win after three straight losses.
