Ella Jones’ second half-hat-trick provided the highlight of a good performance in atrocious conditions from leaders Llandudno.

The 19-year-old forward made it seven goals in six games since returning to first team action in October after a long-term injury.

While Tudno were in command throughout, credit also to Llanfair for making the long journey north and giving their all in the most testing of weather.

Llandudno edged ahead in the seventh minute. A wonderful move worked on the left ended with 17-year-old dazzler Erin Doran cutting in and curling the ball into the top right corner.

In the 18th minute former full Wales international Jasmin Dutton doubled the lead, latching onto a Kelsey Davies through ball and finishing well.

Four minutes before the break, Llanfair keeper Ffion Davies was unable to hold a Dutton strike and Kelsey Davies was in the right place to convert the rebound.

Ella Jones came on for Maddie Williams in the second half and produced a fantastic display of finishing.

In the 49th minute, Davies beat three players down the right and although the Llanfair keeper was able to keep out her effort, Jones was on hand to tap-in the loose ball.

Jones was on the spot again to make it 5-0 on 66 minutes after Davies had blocked a Stacey Tradewell shot with her feet.

Mary Bailey responded for Llanfair after 70, but Jones completed her hat-trick when she took on a Davies pass and blasted home from 20 yards.

Unfortunately, both Becky Jarvis-Evans and player of the match Kelsey Davies had to leave the field injured late on, leaving the hosts with nine as they had already brought on all their subs.

Nonetheless, the game was well won by then.

Airbus UK Broughton 0 CPD Y Rhyl 1879 0

Rhyl’s Chloe Evans (17) leaps to avoid an Airbus challenge

Scoreless at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium where the weather was as appaling as the majority of North Wales were suffering.

A game of few chances ensued, but Rhyl did go close twice late on, Laura Williams heading over from a Becca Bannister free kick and a Sade Benjamin long ranger narrowly clearing the crossbar.

For Airbus, it was a handy point on the back of their midweek NEWFA Challenge Cup semi-final victory over Llangefni Town.

The Wingmakers are a much-improved side defensively, having conceded just three goals in their last five matches.
