A positive end to 2023 for Chirk as they halted a run of five successive defeats with a draw which lifted them off the foot of the Cymru North.
It was a credit to both teams that they produced a thrilling encounter on a very heavy pitch.
Chirk went ahead on 17 minutes when they were awarded a penalty for a foul on Dale Davies and Max McLaughlin made no mistake from the spot.
The Guils hit back minutes later when Iwan Matthews raced through to fire the equaliser.
Skipper Jolyon Harries edged the away side ahead on 32 minutes after a goalmouth scramble in the box.
Chirk came out fighting in the second half and deservedly pulled level on the hour when McLaughlin scored his second penalty following a foul on himself by Tom Williams
The Colliers pushed for a third and will feel unlucky not have gone in as winners. But a decent point against a good Guilsfield team.
The club are hoping for some decent weather during the week to attempt to repair the pitch which took a battering in the atrocious conditions.
They are scheduled to play Holywell Town on Saturday at Holyhead Road.
