Cymru North – Dramatic victory for Llandudno, Holywell return to winning ways

REPORTS – TUESDAY, DECEMBER 19
JD CYMRU NORTH
Buckley Town 2 (Bellis 29, Moore 72)
Llandudno 3 (Bennett 23, Murtas 80, Cooper 90+6)
A dramatic encounter at Globe Way saw Kyle Cooper notch a 96th minute decider for Llandudno.
The team that has been forming a habit of winning games late did it again, making it 13 points earned from a possible last 15.
Two youngsters combined to produce Tudno’s opening goal on 26 minutes. 16-year-old Frank Montgomery with the assist and Harvey Bennett, just 17, with the finish.
Buckley equalised on 29 minutes through Aled Bellis, Liam Driscoll helping in the build-up.
Into the second half and a succession of yellow cards were shown before Bucks, whose form has picked up of late, took the lead after 72 minutes, Max Moore on target with Driscoll again supplying the assist.
Llandudno were facing their first defeat in five league matches, but this team never knows when they are beaten.
On 80 minutes, young Montgomery was involved again as Fabrizio Murtas equalised for the travellers.
Stephen Brown went desperately close for Tudno when his strike hit the underside of the bar, but the officials decided the ball had not crossed the goal-line.
Then six minutes into added time 19-year-old Cooper sent the visiting fans crazy by delivering the winner.
Holywell Town 1 (J Williams 35)
Ruthin Town 0
Back to winning ways for third-place Holywell, who moved to within six points of leaders Airbus with three games in hand after edging past Ruthin on Tuesday.
Julian Williams grabbed the only goal of the match with 35 minutes played.
A free kick into the Ruthin box was only partially cleared and Williams was on hand to fire home.
The visitors dominated for long periods, Gwion Owen testing Shaun Pearson with one well-struck shot, while another effort struck the post, but the Wellmen held on for the spoils.
