Gwynedd and Anglesey Winter Netball League reports week 7 – November 21 and 22

Celts Bach had a great win over Dyffryn Ladies in Division One

There was quite an unexpected result in Division 1 of the Hogan Gwynedd and Anglesey Winter Netball League last Wednesday when leaders Penygroes Primos lost their 100% record.

Menai Mavericks upset the odds with an emphatic 43-18 victory over Primos, who had won all of their previous six matches.

Pwllheli Panthers, who did not play last week, now take over top spot on goal difference with a perfect 6-0 record.

Arfon Ladies made it 5 wins in a row as they outscored WaliB’s 34-15. Beca Parry was a stand-out player for the mutiple champions.

In a cracking game, Fflamau Brynrefs edged a 34-30 verdict over Holyhead, while Walis Bryncoch celebrated a great 29-21 triumph against Dolgellau.

Celts Bach won the last quarter 7-4 to squeeze out a 26-24 success versus Dyffryn Ladies, who were a goal ahead entering the fourth segment.

DIVISION TWO

Pwllheli Pumas were involved in a cracker with Genod Walis

Leaders Rebals Refail Arfon made it seven wins on the bounce with a 33-13 beating of Cymric last Tuesday (November 22).

Llewod Llangefni overcame Genod Nantlle 16-4. Pwllheli Pumas and Genod Walis were all-square at 19-19 at the end of the third quarter. Walis took the closer 6-4 for a thrilling 25-23 decision.

Walis Wariars impressed in seeing off Blaenau Ffestiniog 32-20, while Sarah Williams starred in Porthmadog Dyffryn Ladies’ 32-25 victory against Walis Midffild, whose Beca Haf had a great game also.
