History was made on Sunday as Bangor celebrated their first ever points in the Adran North with a 1-0 win away to Airbus .

The only goal came on 32 minutes – and it was a good one.

After some great build-up, Menna Evans played the ball into the path of Mia Roberts, who lashed a brilliant angled shot in over the keeper.

It was the 18-year-old’s first goal for the club since returning to Bangor last month.

Victorious Bangor coach Aron Griffith, reflecting on the game, said: “After a few weeks off due to the weather and no game we came back stronger.

“It was a pleasure to watch the girls playing fantastic football throughout the game. The dynamic of the team today was brilliant and everyone played a part in a well organised team effort. I’m really pleased with how we played and the build up to the goal was a delight.

“Take nothing away from Airbus, who were knocking at the door in the second half and who were also playing brilliant football, but in the end we soaked up the pressure to defend the win.

“It’s nice for the girls getting the three points and making a bit of history on the way, looking to carry this performance on and finish this year on a strong one.“
