Loui O’Carroll was a hat-trick star for a Bow side which eased into the Junior Cup semi-finals with a 6-1 demolition of their Anglesey visitors.

The 17-year-old wide man made it 19 goals in just 13 matches this season with his third treble of the campaign, the last two arriving back-to-back.

Saturday brought a 14th straight victory in all competitions for Prestatyn-based Bow, whose only defeat this term was a 3-2 loss on the opening day to Tier 4 Penmaenmawr Phoenix in the Welsh Cup.

In their 14-game winning run, they have amassed 84 goals, and Bow are also top of North Wales Coast East Division One with a 100 per cent record.

Gaerwen, from North Wales Coast West Division One, had shown much improvement of late, so the hosts were in no way expecting a walkover.

The deadlock was broken in the 13th minute when Kyle Robb netted from a Joe Carey assist.

O’Carroll opened his account two minutes later, assisted by Ashley Seddon, and Robbie Parry added a third after 31, Carey again the chance provider.

Gaerwen hit back almost immediately through Calum Thomas, but in no time O’Carroll made it 4-1, Seddon with the helping hand on this occasion.

Four minutes into the second half the tie was killed off as a contest when substitute Mike Jones scored with his first touch.

In what was at times a physical second half, Gaerwen went down to 10 after Calum Thomas was shown a second yellow card.

O’Carroll secured himself another match-ball (disclaimer: I am utilizing a popular football catchphrase and not actually suggesting he kept the ball) with his third goal on 72 minutes.

Llandudno Amateurs 5 Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs 0

Five-goal Amateurs joined fellow North Wales Coast East Division One side Bow in the semis after a comfortable success over visitors Blaenau.

Jordan Tidswell delivered a double for the home side, while single goals were provided by Azz Rogers, Gaz Sharp and Joe Jones.

ROUND TWO

CPD Boded 0 Llanfairpwll 0 (Llanfairpwll won 7-6 on penalties)

Not a classic by any means.

No-one really deserved to win, no-one deserved to lose, but someone had to go through and that team was Llanfairpwll, who maintained their great recent record in penalty shoot-outs.

The first half saw defences on top and very few goal-scoring chances resulted.

With tired legs on the heavy pitch, more opportunities came about in the second half.

Llanfairpwll’s Tom Mummery scored a fantastic goal from outside of the box, but it was ruled out. The ball appeared to be flicked on to Mummery by the Boded defence, but the scorer was deemed to be offside.

As the game wore on, both sides had chances to get the win, but both keepers and defences did a great job in keeping it scoreless.

The shoot out in near darkness was intense to say the least with everyone scoring until Boded keeper Richard Bryn Jones saved from Brody White.

Boded stepped up with a chance to win the tie, but their spot-kick hit the bar.

Llanfairpwll scored and now Boded needed to score to stay in the tie. Calum Andrews became the away team hero when he saved to send ‘Pwll through.

Stand out player for Llanfair was captain for the day Adam Thomas, tremendous in the midfield.

Despite missing key players Marquis Holland, Dylan Williams and Rees Roberts, the visitors dug deep to stay in the contest and grind out the result in this all-North Wales Coast West Division One battle.
