Well done Harrison Bellis – 100 goals for Y Glannau as club deliver record score

NORTH WALES COAST EAST DIVISION ONE
CPD Y Glannau 13 (H Bellis 6, J Fontana 3, Stanley 2, M Bellis, J Williams OG)
CPD Caer Clwyd 2 (Watson, Edwards)
Harrison Bellis passed the 100 goals mark for Y Glannau as he delivered a double hat-trick to boost his season’s goals tally to 25, while his team scored 13 in a match for the first time and equalled their biggest ever margin of victory.
Credit to visitors Caer Clwyd, who fought hard in the first half and trailed just 4-2 at the break, but in the second period the home side ran riot.
The hosts took a sixth minute lead when Michael Bellis pulled the ball back for Luke Stanley to calmly finish.
Clwyd had the better of the next 10 minutes, ex-Glannau lad Francis Roberts flashing one across the goal but no team-mate could get the touch to turn the ball in.
The visitors did get a deserved equaliser after 17 minutes after Julian Watson pounced on a mistake at the back, knocking the ball around keeper Brad Wright and tapping into an empty net.
Y Glannau soon regained the lead and it came against the run of play after a mistake at the back from a Caer Clwyd defender allowed Stanley to put in Harrison Bellis, who finished emphatically.
A minute later after some great wing play from Jared Hughes released Stanley down the right and his cross forced James Williams to unfortunately put through his own net.

Glannau tails were up and they went 4-1 ahead when Joey Fontana hit a strike which squeezed into the bottom corner.
Caer did get one back before half time when Shaun Edwards headed in from a corner 4-2.
Half time: 4-2
The second half started with Caer Clwyd on top for the first five minutes. Wright had to make a good save down low, and a few last-ditch tackles were needed to keep the two goal lead safe.
The rest of the game Y Glannau controlled and they put in a ruthless last 40 minutes.
Hughes set up Harrison Bellis to make it 5-2 on 51 minutes.
The goal of the game came in the 53rd minute. Osian Williams delivered a throw to Harrison Bellis, who picked the ball up from 35-40 yards and caught the keeper out with a quite stunning strike.
Harrison Bellis then turned provider after he poked the ball into the path of Stanley who turned his man, sat the keeper down and lashed home.
At 7-2 up, the hosts could afford to make a few changes to keep things fresh. Aaron Dodwell took the field after six weeks out and Sam Owens also came on.
It became 8-2 from a superb Hughes corner, Harrison Bellis heading home his fourth goal of the game and 99th for the club.
Number nine also came through Bellis but it wasn’t quite goal 100 just yet for Harrison as it was his twin Michael who was played in by his brother to finish well into the bottom corner. Michael was excellent all game and deserved that goal.
Goal number 10 arrived after another pinpoint corner from Hughes was headed in by captain fantastic Joey Fontana.
Michael Bellis then earned a penalty which spot-kick specialist Harrison would take.

How would he go about seeking his 100th goal for the club? He chose a Panenka method and score to make it 11-2 with his fifth of the afternoon.
It was not long before the hosts were awarded another spot-kick which Harrison Bellis dispatched into the top corner for his sixth.

Just before the end, Dodwell picked the ball up and ran into the box and squared to Fontana, who curled home superbly for his hat-trick.
This was the first time Y Glannau had scored 13 goals in one game.
Also a special mention to Rhys Davies, who came on 10 minutes from time for his club debut – a young lad with a lot of potential who is only 16 years of age.
