NWCFA DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE REPORTS – OCTOBER 1

East Division

Kinmel Bay Development 3 Bow FC 2

Jacob Jones delivered an 88th minute winner for Kinmel Bay in a cracker of a local derby against Bow at Y Morfa Leisure Centre on Sunday.

Bay started well with Jacob Jones and Owain Roberts both working visiting keeper Lee Sheldon early on.

The home breakthrough came in the 13th minute when 17-year-old Oli Burns scored his first goal in senior football, turning in Tyler Oakley-Evans’ corner at the back post,

Kinmel should have been 2-0 up five minutes later when a loose ball fell to player-manager Harry Woodfine 12 yards out, but his effort hit the post.

The hosts did go two-up in the 37th minute when a free kick from the halfway line was flicked on to the back post by Woodfine and was converted into a goal by Connor Craig.

Bow got one back on 42 minutes when a quickly taken goal kick to former Bay player Declan Bellamy saw him find Loui O’Carroll at the edge of the box. Youngster O’Carroll finished into the bottom corner.

HT Kinmel Bay 2-1 Bow

Bay had not really started in the second half and a long ball down the pitch was controlled well by Tom Bamber who blasted past keeper Darrell Gunther to tie the game at 2-2 with 48 on the clock.

Both sides made changes during the second half, but it was the Bay that had the final word when man of the match Jacob Jones danced through four Bow players and expertly dispatched his shot into the corner of the goal to win the game.

Bow’s Kai Paolucci was dismissed in added time for a kick out on Bay skipper Wez Hancocks.

Llanfairfechan Town Reserves 4 Llysfaen Development 2

A good first half from Llysfaen saw them lead 2-1 at the break, but the visitors lost their way in the second period and Llanfairfechan went on to win the match.

Lee Fallas scored on 11 and 22 minutes for the Faen, but Llanfair stayed in touch when Cian Adams replied after 36.

The second half saw the home side dominate, Anthony Gustafson levelling with 57 minutes gone.

The home side now had the upper hand and substitute Dylan Laing made it 3-2 after 73 before Jamie Baker clinched the points with a 75th minute fourth.

Bontnewydd Development 1 Trearddur Bay Development 5

Five-goal Trearddur Bay maintained their 100 percent record with a 5-1 result at bottom side Bontnewydd.

Sion Thomas put the Anglesey side two ahead with goals on 16 and 23 minutes before Elis Davies replied after 29 for the hosts.

Before half time, James Leatherbarrow put Bay 3-1 in front after 38 minutes.

Ten minutes into the second half, the prolific Asa Thomas, who like all the first team suffered from a lack of action on Saturday through no fault of their own, hit the net for the reserves to make it 4-1.

Mathew Lawlor-Jones added a fifth for the islanders on 70, Leatherbarrow with the assist.
