Birthday Belle: Emma Louise Roberts (Amlwch Town and Ynys Môn)

September 26 marks the 24th birthday of Amlwch Town player Emma Louise Roberts.
So today gives us an ideal opportunity to celebrate the talents of this versatile performer.
Emma is a hard-working midfielder or central defender with good passing ability who possesses a tremendous shot.
This was certainly in evidence at the start of 2022-23 when she netted one of the goals of the season – an unstoppable free kick in a Welsh Cup win over Llangefni Town.

Emma has been a key regular for Amlwch Town in recent seasons, having previously played for Amlwch Juniors, Bangor City, Caernarfon Town and Cardiff Met.
She has represented Ynys Môn at three separate Island Games competitions.

In 2017, she played every minute for Anglesey at the Games in Gotland.
Two years later, Emma was in the squad for the 2019 one-off Inter-Games tournament held on Ynys Môn.
An amazing group of players, including Wales international keeper Nicky Davies, top-scorer Lexi Crawley and new sensation Catrin Evans earned Anglesey a silver medal. Emma and her sister Anna also played a part.
Then in 2023, Emma was among the Ynys Môn stars which finished fifth at the Island Games in Guernsey, producing two fantastic wins in three matches.
Sport plays a huge part in Emma’s life.
As a sports development officer for Ynys Môn, she co-ordinates the Môn Actif project, providing the future of sport and opportunities for the young people of Anglesey.

Football runs in the family as Emma’s dad Stephen Richard Roberts is a former Bangor City talent of the 1980’s who now is a major player with the Wales walking football team.
Penblwydd hapus Emma – one of the best.
