North Wales Coast West – Gwalchmai top, nap for Llanfairpwll, Llanystumdwy hit nine

Premier Division

CPD Llanberis 1 Gwalchmai 3

Connor Owen struck twice as Gwalchmai recovered from going a goal down to pick up an excellent three points at Ffordd Padarn.

Guto Llywelyn gave Llanberis a 10th minute lead, but Owen, last season’s Premier Division top-scorer, made it 1-1 on 25 from a Chris Bennett assist.

Seven minutes into the second half, the 18-year-old Owen edged Gwalch ahead from the penalty spot and the win was sealed by Kaine Bentley’s goal on 78.

CPD Llannerchymedd 1 CPD Mynydd Llandegai 2

Jamie Whitmore clinched victory for Llandegai with an 85th minute decider at Tan Parc.

Tomos Jones put Llannerchymedd in front on 38 minutes, but Iwan Morris levelled before half time.

CPD Penrhyndeudraeth 4 Amlwch Town 1

The surname Hughes dominated this win for Penrhyndeudraeth which saw the home side net three times after the clock had reached 90 minutes.

Tom Hughes scored on 33 and 90+3 minutes, while Alun Hughes bagged goals after 90+1 and 90+6.

Cian Evans had equalised for Amlwch on 53 and it remained 1-1 going into added time. Then Penrhyn delivered three late blows to secure the win.

CPD Pentraeth 0 Trearddur Bay 6

Six goals for a Trearddur team sitting second in the table with a perfect record of four straight wins.

Asa Thomas (2, 1 pen), Justin Williams (2), Jay Gibbs and Tom Scott made up the Beach Boys’ tally.

Talysarn Celts 2 Llanrug United 7

Jamie McDaid was a four-goal star as third-place Llanrug turned on the style with a seven-goal show at Gloddfa Glai.

Former Welsh Premier striker McDaid found the net on 3, 14, 29 and 61 minutes for the visitors, Dion Roberts, Osian Williams and Jonathan Sadler adding one each.

Luke Baum notched two consolation goals for the Celts.

Cemaes Bay 3 CPD Aberffraw 1 (Friday)

The Bay made it four wins out of five in the Premier Division.

The deadlock was broken 20 minutes in when striker Daniel Jones applied a good finish from close range.

However, the visitors had their chances in the first half, rattling the bar at one stage.

In the second half, Aberffraw did find their way back into the game via a well-taken free kick by Gareth Hughes.

But soon after a Chris Hughes corner was headed home by Tom Wood.

Haydn Jones was dismissed from the field for dissent for the Bay late on, but Wood pounced once more to latch onto a defensive error and finish for 3-1 and his ninth goal of the season.

Division One

Bethesda Rovers 2 Bontnewydd 3

Bontnewydd made it six consecutive wins as they continue to build a handy lead at the Division One summit.

Sion Jones got Bont off to a flier with goals on 11 and 15 minutes.

New signing Jamie Patterson pulled one back for Rovers, but Alex Kalafusz made it 3-1 three minutes before half time.

Patterson added a second for Bethesda in the 93rd minute, but it was not enough to save the hosts, who were down to 10 men, from defeat.

Caergybi 5 Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs 1

It was a great day for the Chapman family of Caergybi.

Floyd Chapman netted his first goal in four seasons for the team with a delightful chip, while Louis displayed his true class as a striker with a trademark hat-trick.

James Ryan, who recently notched his 100th goal for the club, also found the net against Blaenau, who replied via Huw Parry. Oliver Dukes-Morgan was sent off for the Quarrymen on 58 minutes for a second yellow card.

CPD Cefni 1 CPD Boded 1

Another close battle between this pair, Dion Jones handing Cefni a 37th minute lead before Casey Gregg equalised after 75.

CPD Gaerwen 1 Llanystumdwy 9

Owen Pritchard netted four times for a Llanystumdwy outfit which hit nine at Lon Groes.

Arwyn Jones (2), Sion Parry, Iwan Emlyn and Iwan Richards made up the rest of the rout, Nathan Moore with a consolation for Gaerwen.

Llanfairpwll 5 Holyhead Town 0

Not a bad week for Llanfairpwll!

A new shirt sponsorship deal with the world’s most famous football league and then a 5-0 home win on Saturday.

Llanfair, who received a huge boost when LaLiga became its kit backer, took their elation onto the field against a Holyhead side which began the season well.

Tom Mummery, Cian Owen, Carwyn Roberts, Dei Thomas and top-scorer Marquis Holland all featured on the scoresheet at Maes Eilian.
