Kaine Bentley made it seven goals in three games for a Gwalchmai side which roared into the next round of the Intermiediate Cup.
A summer signing from Trearddur Bay, one of the stars of Ynys Môn’s Island Games silver medal winning squad Bentley, scored on 25 and 33 minutes to help sink Abergele at Eirias Park.
Also on target for Gwalch was defender Declan Jones and last season’s 39-goal hero Connor Owen.
Dom Holland and Chris Davies replied for Gele.
Glyn Hughes-Thomas notched the only goal as Talysarn Celts progressed at the expense of much-improved home side Bro Cernyw.
Substitute Connor Gordon’s extra time strike settled an ultra-close Anglesey derby in Glantraeth’s favour.
Gordon, who came on in the 56th minute, struck in the 115th from a Huw Griffith assist.
Both sides had a player sent off for two yellow cards, Glantraeth’s Darren Lewthwaite in the 84th minute and Lewis Connor for Amlwch after 115.
A fantastic performance from all 16 in the match day squad saw Sports progress to the second round of the NWCFA Intermediate Challenge Cup.
Mochdre opened the scoring in the seventh minute, when Charlie Lloyd, playing on the right wing, was played in by Scott Brown to find himself one-on-one with the keeper where he finished well.
Mochdre’s second was almost a carbon copy. Left winger Josh Grimshaw was put through by Brown and finished calmly.
Llanberis created a couple of chances late in the first half, but Mochdre keeper Nic Bould was only left to claim crosses, which he did well all day, and tip one fierce shot over the bar.
The second half began much as the first had ended, very even with not much threat from either side – and then Anuar Seilkhanov arrived on the scene.
With his first touch, the Kazakhstan ace put Grimshaw through on goal for his second.
The scoring was wrapped up when Grimshaw skipped past the full-back, and set up Brown to finish neatly into the far corner.
Late goals from Jack Williams and Mathew Jones (penalty) guided Junction into the next stage.
Rhys Williams’ goal handed Nefyn a half-time lead, but Dean Seager levelled eight mintes into the second period.
Matty Griffiths scored his 100th goal for Meliden in his team’s Intermediate Cup success at The Mine.
Having won at Kinmel Bay in the league seven days earlier, the Miners completed a quick double over their rivals, who they meet yet again at home in a North Wales Coast East Premier Division clash this Saturday.
The Intermediate Cup tie saw Luca Querci give Meliden a second-minute lead from the penalty spot.
Griffiths’ special goal from a Querci assist on 54 minutes made it 2-0.
Ian Dunn cut the deficit before Lewis Thompson notched the home side’s third on 77.
Meliden player-manager Warren Adam was dismissed for a second yellow eight minutes from time.
Iwan ‘Pij’ Morris, Iestyn Marlow, Cameron Robertson and Jamie Whitmore scored a goal apiece in Llandegai’s victory, Luke Appleby with Llansannan’s reply.
Tight contest at Ffordd Derwen, but NFA made it eight straight wins in all competitions thanks to goals from Jay Whitehouse and Lewis Evans with an 82nd minute winner.
The ever-competitive Cerrig had taken a first-half lead through Gruffudd Edwards.
Pen needed extra time to win an epic 11-goal cracker at Cae Sling.
Lee Stokes bagged a hat-trick for the hosts, Ricky Jones struck twice, including a penalty, and Harry Benjamin also pocketed a double.
Andy Booker hit back for Rhuddlan with a treble, and Harvey Gordon added a single. It was 3-3 after 90 minutes.
Tom Hughes and skipper Deegan John supplied the goals which saw Penrhyn through to the next round.
This match was reported on in depth by Grassroots North Wales on Saturday.
All of Llanfair’s goals came in the second half via Cory Young, Thomas Croston, Danny Hughes (2) and Elliot Croston (penalty).
