NORTH WALES COAST EAST LEAGUE DIVISION ONE

Bow FC 6 (Parry 13 & 40, O’Carroll 18 & 47, Robb 19, Carey 23)
Llandudno Amateurs 3 (Chapman 20, J Jones 37, Slaven 90+)

This Division One battle of the 100 percent record sides lived up to expectations, ending up a nine-goal thriller.

It was leaders Bow who took the honours, but the talented Amateurs, who up to Saturday had not conceded a league goal, played their part in a Bastion Gardens cracker.

The late withdrawal of the Amateurs’ regular keeper did not help their cause.

The visitors passed the ball around nicely in the opening minutes. Using their wingers, they attacked at every opportunity, but Bow’s defence stayed strong.

In the seventh minute Bow had the ball in the net via a great Kyle Robb strike but the goal was ruled out for offside.

Bow had sent out a warning signal and after 13 minutes they took the lead. Joe Carey picked out a lovely pass to Rob Parry, who applied a lethal finish.

Five minutes later, Parry skipped past two players and found wonderkid Loui O’Carroll, who curled the ball into the bottom corner

Just a minute after, Carey cut the defence wide open with a precision pass, releasing Robb who made no mistake – 3-0 to the hosts.

In the 23rd minute, another long ball by Amateurs was cut out by James Harper who passed to Aaron Boyle. He released Parry, who got inside the Amateurs box before picking out Carey to head home.

Four goals in 10 minutes from the leaders.

Bow took their foot off the gas and Amateurs got a goal back via Mike Chapman with a well-timed header.

The visitors cut the deficit to two in the 37th minute when Joe Jones found the net.

Bow woke up again and went 5-2 up when a great cross from Carey was volleyed home via a back-heel from the outstanding Parry.

Half-time: Bow 5 Amateurs 2.

Within two minutes of the restart, O’Carroll smashed home a shot from just outside the area which took a deflection past the keeper to make it 6-2.

Bow dominated the next phase, but then made a triple substitution due to niggles and tired legs and Amateurs took advantage, Mckenzie Slaven lashing home what turned out to be the final goal.
