Report: Llandudno Ladies FC

To score 10 goals away from home in your opening game represents quite a start to the new season.

That is what Llandudno achieved on Sunday on their visit to newly-promoted NFA.

The game started off in very lively fashion with both teams battling for everything. Llandudno steadily got on top, passing the ball all around the pitch.

Tudno’s first goal came on 17 minutes. Stacey Tradewell crossed the ball in from the left wing and Maddie Williams volleyed into the top left-hand corner.

Three minutes later, Williams threaded a through ball in between the home centre backs for Stevie Donougher to run on to, carry into the six-yard box and find the bottom-right corner.

In the 44th minute, Tradewell crossed in for Donougher to head on and Williams slotted away her second of the game and 50th goal for the club on her 45th appearance.

Eight minutes into the second half, Tradewell converted a penalty for the visitors.

Tradewell then sent in a corner which substitute Sioned Phillips headed on the run into the net, straight through the keeper’s hands.

In the 65th minute, a goal-kick from Megan Robinson found Donougher, who advanced forward and netted from 10 yards.

Maddie Williams completed her hat-trick when she nodded in from a rebound after the keeper pushed Erin Doran’s strike onto the bar.

Now it was time for Australian Donougher to take over. The former CPD Merched Bangor star volleyed in for her treble following a through ball from Ffion Owen.

After a Tradewell corner on 83 minutes, there was a bit of a scramble in the box and Donougher poked into the bottom-left corner.

Ffion Owen’s cross was then placed home in the 86th minute, Donougher scoring a fifth on her debut.

NFA kept trying and pulled a goal back through Jess Mills in added time.

Maddie Williams received the player of the match accolade from the home side.
