Rhyl 1879 sign former Welsh Cup winner

Lily Corry has signed for CPD Y Rhyl 1879

CPD Y Rhyl 1879’s newest signing will be a familiar name to many footballers in the area.

Lily Corry, 23, has enjoyed plenty of past success in the game and she will be hoping to add to that after joining the Genero Adran North Lilywhites for the 2023-24 season.

Much of Lily’s football background lies with Prestatyn.

She started off with Prestatyn Under-12’s and progressed through the age groups before representing the senior side.

In 2015, she was part of the fantastic Prestatyn Girls team which won the FAW Under-16 Welsh Cup Final in Newtown, beating Coed Duon Dragons 4-0.

A versatile player who preferred operating at right-wing, she went on to stand out for the Prestatyn team which competed in the North Wales Women’s League, finishing up their top-scorer in 2017.

The following year, Lily successfully trialled to play football in America.

She is also a former student of Everton Sixth Form College, travelling to Liverpool every day to study and play for the blues.

In more recent times, Lily, now a mum-of-two, has represented Warrington Wolves, but is now looking forward to playing back in North Wales.
