Joe Connolly was on the mark twice as The New Saints’ first-ever match in the FAW Reserve League North Tier 1-2 ended in an emphatic victory on Monday night.
Joshua Davies-Sewell opened the scoring after 10 minutes at Park Hall, then Tyler Roberts and Connolly stretched the lead to 3-0 at half time.
Ieuan Jones-Wellstead, the evergreen Greg Draper, Connolly (penalty), Thomas Blaze and Hadif Hizamshol completed the second half scoring for the hosts.

Dan Semple (2) and Sam Baker shared the goals in a promising start for the young Airbus side.
Connah’s Quay Nomads U21’s 3 Buckley Town Reserves 1
Jayden Tang put Nomads one-up on 30 minutes, but it was 1-1 after 32 when captain Owen Jones equalised for Buckley.
Tyler Berry and Ben Farley netted for the hosts in the first half to clinch the points.
Porthmadog Reserves 2 Llandudno FC U23’s 3
Zac Pike and Ellis Puw were on target for Port, but Llandudno won the day with goals from Jacob Guy, Frank Montgomery and Iker Bas.
Pike also missed a penalty for the hosts.

Aiden Fox bagged a hat-trick – which included a penalty – for clear winners Brickfield.
Joise Fernandes and sub Leo Parker added singles for the Brickie, Dion Billing with a single response for Llangefni, who lost Tyler Jones in the second half for two yellow cards.

Toby Adams’ 85th minute net-finder ensured Conwy ran out narrow victors.
Llangollen Town Reserves 2 Nantlle Vale Reserves 5
Hat-trick star Llion Griffiths, Hugh Jones and Cian Dafydd combined to deliver Nantlle Vale a fine win, Matthew Jones among the scorers for the outgunned hosts.
Llay Welfare Reserves 1 Flint Mountain Reserves 5
Frankie Antonie plundered a treble on debut – including a penalty – as the newly-formed Flint Mountain Reserves got off to a flyer.
Tom Ruffer and Sam Molyneux notched the rest for the visitors, Cameron Boyle with a late consolation for Llay.
