Penmaenmawr Phoenix were North Wales Coast Reserve League champions in 2021-22 and 2022-23

A new North Wales Coast Development League comprising 15 teams split into two divisions will soon be up and running.

The competition replaces the North Wales Coast Reserve League, which ran for two seasons with a small group of clubs.

The North Wales Coast Development League will involve 15 clubs split into an East Division of eight teams and a West Division of seven.

Membership will be

EAST DIVISION

Prestatyn Wanderers
Llysfaen
Y Glannau
Kinmel Bay
Bow FC
Llanfairfechan Town
Penmaenmawr Phoenix
NFA

WEST DIVISION

Nefyn United
Llanrug United

North Wales Coast FA president Mr Bryan Roberts said: “The development league will be divided into East and West divisions with the possibility of top 4 teams in each division forming a Division One (8 teams) halfway through the season with the remainder forming a second division consisting of 7 teams.

“The reason for the delay (in launching the league) was due to FAW not sanctioning the development league at first until we pushed for sanction.

“Why they haggled about it is unknown to us.”

The league will commence in early September.
