Prolific goal scorer Gary Bolton shares 15 very special moments from his football career

Gary Bolton recently called time on a goal-packed career in North Wales football.
The 38-year-old from Ynys Môn spent the last 13 years of his playing days with CPD Aberffraw, having previously represented a number of clubs including Bodedern, where he won the Welsh Alliance League title in 2004/05.
Bolton clocked up a total of 304 games for Berffro, whilst scoring no fewer than 205 times for the club.
In all, he has notched more than 300 career goals, his other clubs including Trearddur Bay in Sunday League, Bodedern, Holyhead Hotspur, Cemaes Bay and Gaerwen.
Grassroots North Wales asked Gary to pick out some of his career highlights and he had no problem whatsoever coming up with a rapid 15.
BOLTON’S BEST

1 Winning the Welsh Alliance League title with Bodedern in 2004/05.
2 Scoring twice for Boded in the Eryri Shield final to beat Blaenau 3-0 in 2009
3 Scoring my 200th goal for Berffro at Llanberis in 2021 and also becoming the club’s all-time top scorer
4 Netting twice for Aberffraw, including a last minute winner, to beat a very strong Menai Bridge side 2-1 in the NWCFA Junior Cup semi final in 2014

5 Scoring twice in probably my best game for Berffro to beat Abergele 2-0, who were 2 leagues higher, in the FAW Trophy in 2015
6 A last minute free kick at Llannerchymedd in the Dargie Cup semi final to take us through to the final on away goals in 2011
7 Scoring in the final itself which was the last Dargie final played at Farrar Road, Bangor, which we unfortunately lost on penalties to Trearddur Bay

8 Coming off the bench to score twice on my debut for Boded at Llanrwst in 2004, a game which we won 2-0
9 Scoring 4 on my debut for Cemaes in a 7-4 win away at Penmaenmawr Phoenix in 2005
10 Grabbing a hat-trick for Berffro against a very strong Morawelon side in a cup semi-final which we won 5-3 in extra time
11 Scoring a second half hat-trick for Gaerwen away at Bontnewydd to come back from 4-1 down at half time to 4-4

12 Scoring twice including my best ever goal – a 30 yarder into the top corner – as I didn’t score many from outside the box, beating Llanberis away 2-1 for Cemaes Bay in 2006
13 Scoring twice on my debut for Berffro in a 4-0 win at Pentraeth
14 Scoring with two headers – which I didn’t score many – away at Menai Bridge in a cup semi-final which finished 4-4 and we won on penalties in 2016
15 Scoring five for Berffro in a 6-1 win against Llandegfan in the last game of my first season at the club in 2011
