FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL REPORTS – AUGUST 11

LOCK STOCK ARDAL NORTH WEST

Bethesda Athletic 6 Llannefydd 1

Noa Hughes became the first Bethesda Athletic player to score a hat-trick in Ardal North West on a night which also saw the newly-promoted side register a first win of the season in emphatic style.

Hughes, aged just 17, struck twice in first half added time before completing his treble in the 80th minute.

Scott Hughes netted first for Pesda on three minutes from a Kane Roberts assist, but Sam Jones levelled for fellow ANW new boys Llannefydd after 44.

That Noa Hughes double in overtime gave Athletic a 3-1 lead.

Benn Lundstram provided assists for the next two home goals, from Joe Todd after 50 minutes and impressive new signing Kane Roberts after 75.

It was left to Noa Hughes to round off a perfect night for Mark N Hughes’ men, Kane Roberts setting him up.

JD CYMRU NORTH

Guilsfield 0 Buckley Town 1

In a game which featured 12 yellow cards, Buckley scored the only goal through Max Moore in the 27th minute.

That made it two away league wins on the trot for Jason Aldcroft’s side, who have produced an encouraging start to the new season.

Ruthin Town 1 Gresford Athletic 1

Despite finishing up with nine men, Gresford still took away a valuable point from their trip to the Vale of Clwyd.

Ever-consistent Cymru North marksman Joe Chaplin put the Colliers ahead on nine minutes, Haci Ozlu with the assist.

Mathew Evans then missed a penalty for Ruthin on 16 minutes.

Gresford had Charlie Mann red-carded on 70 and the same fate befell Nathan Williams after 74 minutes.

Ruthin equalised on 81 minutes through Andy Brown, but could not force the winner.

Thomas Collins made it 4-0 on 74 before the visitors notched number five through Kyle Jones with 87 on the clock.

DIVISION ONE

Bontnewydd 2 CPD Mountain Rangers 0

A red card for Rhys Jones just six minutes in did not help Mountain Rangers’ cause.
