Denbigh’s Harrison Jones and Will Ryan of St Asaph were part of a crushing Welsh victory at Slough on Sunday.
Neither debutant Jones or fellow club skipper Ryan had major roles to play in the NCAA Trophy win over Buckinghamshire, but it was still a great experience for the pair to be involved in such a grand display.
Bucks elected to bat and were dismissed for 161 off 41.3 overs, Sam Pearce taking 4-22 and Rich Edwards 3-30. Left-arm spinner Harrison Jones bowled five wicketless overs.
Wales NC then eased to 167-1 off 43.3, Cameron Hemp 80 not out and Steffan Roberts 71 no. Neither Ryan or Jones were required to bat.
Wales were delighted to sign off the group stage with a victory after three previous defeats.
Next month, Wales will host Shropshire in the three-day championship at Brymbo (July 9-11).
The Wales NC North Under-19’s match with Shropshire CCC Academy XI scheduled for Bangor today was unfortunately called off as the visitors could not raise a team.
