Ten-year ban imposed over assault on referee in North Wales game

A Disciplinary Panel of the North Wales Coast Football Association (NWCFA) sat on Wednesday 7th June 2023 to adjudicate on a case which contained charges relating to an alleged assault on a referee.

The case relating to the individual, who will remain unnamed, was found proven by the Panel. The Panel determined to suspend the individual from all football related activity for ten (10) years and impose a substantial financial penalty.

The NWCFA takes all reports of violence and abuse against referees seriously, and will continue to use all measures at our disposal to punish and prevent such instances.

Grassroots North Wales is unaware of the reason why there is such lack of detail made available by the NWCFA on this case. We’ll release more information if or when we get it.
