Champions announce official name change

CPD Merched Bangor (blue) in action this season

The champions of the North Wales Women’s Football League this season have officially declared a name change.

The only name acceptable now is CPD Merched Bangor – Bangor Women’s FC.

On the club’s social media today, the following appeared: “The club committee have taken the decision to change the name of the club to reinforce the fact that it’s an entirely independent all-female football club responsible for our own financing and governance.

“The name change was endorsed by the FAW National Game Board and NWCFA.”

Formed two seasons ago, the team finished third last term, but were crowned invincible champions in the 2022-23 campaign with an amazing record of 20 wins and 2 draws, scoring a remarkable 120 goals and conceding just eight.
