Saltney Ferry have withdrawn from the tier 5 North East Wales Football League Championship Division with just a handful of games remaining in the 2022-23 season.
Ferry joined the league at the start of the current campaign and were seventh in the table with a good record of eight wins, four draws and three defeats, which has now been expunged due to their resignation.
The North East Wales League explained that Saltney Ferry’s home game with Sychdyn on March 4 was abandoned due to unrest.
The league added an unspecified punishment was imposed on the club. Consequences of this, and another game soon after in which the Ferry manager was sent off, resulted in the club resigning due to having insufficient officials to run it.
The league table has now been reset minus all of Saltney Ferry’s results.
