They play in orange and black – attack attack attack!
They’ll beat you good and thorough – those girls from Conwy Borough!
Just two chants that will never be adopted by fans of up and coming recreational football stars CONWY BOROUGH LADIES.
Over the past few months this developing new football team in the North Wales scene have been performing very nicely.
Some of the names in the squad are very familiar….
Molly Watkinson is a former striker for Llandudno and Penrhyn Bay who is on the comeback trail after illness and injury.
She has knocked in eight goals in her first four games!
A fan of Manchester City, she is otherwise perfect.
Sonia Jones is another proven goal-getter who has played for Llandudno and used to be part of the Penrhyn Bay recreational team.
She’s a fighting machine who has done some cage battling.
Hannah Parry once wore the colours of Kinmel Bay and is on the comeback trail. She’s a real charmer whose hobbies including biking, banking and balling.
Ella Hughes has played for Llandudno in the Welsh Cup, had a brief spell at Northop Hall and has been instrumental in the formation of Conwy Borough. She’s a social media star and a great laugh.
Esteemed Llandudno manager Sarah Colville once said of Ella: “She’ll run all day for you”. Unfortunately most of Conwy’s game take place at NIGHT so Ella has mostly been sitting down planning holidays during matches.
I’ve gone on record as saying: “If I win the lottery, I’ll buy Ella and Charlie a crackin’ holiday”.
A really close game against a strong Llysfaen side was won by Conwy thanks to a very late goal.
Molly Watkinson scored twice and there was one apiece from Sophie Rowe and Ella Hughes.
The rain stopped just in time for this one, but it was soon bucketing goals!
Sonia Jones led the way with a double, Ella Hughes, Hannah Parry, Molly Watkinson and Francesca Giocomet all with one each.
Borough were buzzing after winning a good contest against the village valiants.
There was a flurry of late goals in this one with the teams inseparable for the first 50 minutes.
Molly Watkinson (3), Hannah Parry and Sonia Jones shared the goals for the winning side.
The Conwy girls began 2023 with a good win.
Molly Watkinson and Carly Andrews each netted twice, while Player of the Match Sonia Jones added a single.
