Conwy Borough FC launch a new ladies team

Conwy Borough FC have kicked off plans to develop a women’s team.

Currently a seven-a-side set up, it is hoped the team can expand in numbers depending on interest.

To that end, they are seeking new players to join.

Here’s a quick Q & A with Conwy player Ella Hughes, 26, who has played for Penrhyn Bay Panthers and Llandudno.

Why have you started the team?

A few of us have played together previously in other teams. We were approached by Conwy, who were interested in creating a women’s team

Have you all played the game before?

We have some players from 11 a side, some solely from 7 a side and some who have only just started. (Anyone at any level is welcome)

As a seven a side, will you just be looking to play friendlies at first?

We will be looking for friendlies
