Conwy Borough manager steps down

Conwy Borough are seeking a new manager following the departure of Simon Allen.

The Tier 4 North Wales Coast East Premier Division club confirmed today that Allen has stepped down from his position as first team manager, with the decision agreed by mutual consent.

Allen joined the Tangerines in November 2024, arriving with experience from the Colwyn Bay FC Under-19 team set-up and a coaching stint with Mochdre Sports.

Borough finished fifth in the Premier Division last season having been relegated from Ardal North West the campaign before.

A Conwy Borough statement said: “Having inherited a challenging situation at Conwy, Simon brought commitment and determination to the role and worked hard to consolidate and develop the first-team squad, building a competitive squad and endeavouring to provide a solid platform for the club’s continued progress.

“Simon has decided to step away from the managerial role to devote more time to his personal commitments. He leaves the position as a popular and highly respected member of the Conwy Borough family, and we very much hope that he will continue to play a role within the club. Simon also facilitates the club’s Under-5 section, helping to support the development of our youngest players.

“The club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Simon for his efforts and contribution to the first team and the wider club during his time as manager.

“An announcement about new first team manager to follow in the near future.

“In the meantime, thank you, Simon from everyone at the club.”
