NORTH WALES COAST EAST DIVISION ONE – MARCH 25

Llysfaen 2 Bow 7

Mike Chapman has scored many a hat-trick in his illustrious career as a forward in North Wales football, but Saturday saw him record his first treble for Bow FC – the club he joined in January.

The Prestatyn-based visitors took an 11th minute lead when Loui O’Carroll played a lovely delivery over the Llysfaen defence to release Chapman, who raced clear, beat advancing keeper Ben Williams and walked the ball into the net.

It was soon 2-0 when Ashley Seddon headed on a Charlie Jones long throw and Chapman nodded in bravely.

Keeper Williams saw a red card on 43 minutes for taking out Seddon when he was through on goal.

Chapman completed his hat-trick before the break following another O’Carroll assist.

Three minutes into the second half, Seddon made a fine run and squared to Tom Weir, who rifled into the top corner.

Substitute Barry Roche came on in the 56th minute and made an impact in no time as he turned a defender inside the box before lashing into the bottom corner for 5-0.

Llysfaen then joined the party, bagging two quick replies through Steven Collins and Tom Collier, the latter via a twice-taken penalty.

Richard Hiller-Evans, as he does so often, kept out the first kick, but the referee had spotted an infringement so Collier was given a second chance, which he took.

Bow rightly had the final say, Azz Boyle putting away a penalty awarded for a foul on Jones, then O’Carroll’s deflected thunderous strike made it 7-2.

Rhyl All Stars 0 Abergele 4

Table-topping Abergele dominated play from the first whistle.

A long Greg Hilditch throw was turned in by All Stars defender Shaun Davies to see Gele take the lead on 12 minutes.

Jack Lloyd-Williams was pulling the strings in midfield for Abergele as they continued to press.

A brave header from target man Tommy Lloyd found the feet of the ever-dangerous Sam Ashton, who sat the keeper down before rounding him and slotting into the empty net.

The momentum was in Gele’s favour but they could not add to their lead. Will Smith had a goal disallowed and Dom Holland headed just wide.

Shortly before half time, Holland held the ball up well in the box before setting up Tommy Lloyd, who fired into the bottom corner.

The second half continued more of the same with Gele controlling the play and creating some good chances. Holland looked certain to score before a last-ditch tackle from Michael Williams.

A Brizy Wilson corner was met by Ricci Thomas, who headed the ball goal-bound before it was deflected in by the home team’s Elliot Price.

A long range effort from Wilson clipped the post before going out of play and Connah Atkinson lobbed the keeper, but the ball did not cross the line.

A solid all round team performance and a third consecutive clean sheet for Abergele’s number one Cain Folly.

All Stars did have their moments, Jacob Jones’ first-half header bringing a good save out of Folly, who then denied Tyler Donnelly twice in the second period, while Price showed great footwork before seeing his strike cleared off the line.

The home defence also played well for long spells. Abergele are top of the table, so the All Stars could feel proud of their efforts in this one.

Rhos United 0 NFA 2

An eighth league win on the bounce for NFA who continue to stalk the top two.

Matthew Robinson scored both away goals at Coleg Llandrillo, striking on 27 and 55 minutes.

Rhos had substitute Arran Hands red-carded after the final whistle.
