Hat-trick hero Mike Latham turned in a man of the match performance for a Queen’s Park side which hit their visitors for six.
The home side produced a fast start and went desperately close three times in the early stages.
Latham was foiled by an heroic goal-line clearance before rattling the crossbar from a tight angle. Richie Jones then also blasted against the goal frame.
On 20 minutes Latham won a penalty after he was fouled in the area when making a run into the box.
Latham’s penalty was kept out by Connor Griffiths, but the star man was following up to dispatch the rebound.
The Park were now in their groove and next a great lobbed pass by Latham sent Richie Jones clean through. With the keeper advancing, Jones knocked it expertly straight over him and into the open net.
With half time approaching it was once again Latham that was barged off the ball to earn Park a second penalty. This time there was no mistake and an interval lead of 3-0 was secured.
The second half started in the same vein and a Latham corner was bullet-headed home by Callum Roberts.
In fairness to Greenfield they then had their best spell of the game and managed to score twice through Samuel Edwards and Connor Hughes.
However, the hosts remained in control with Latham completing his treble from another penalty earned by Liam Davies, who added a sixth himself.
Matthew Davies’ 78th minute goal was enough to separate the sides.
Town stormed back to the summit on goal difference after chalking up a dozen at the TMC Hallcrest Ground.
