Wanderers were delighted to come out on top in a keenly contested Rhyl and District Sunday League local derby today.

The scoring was opened by captain Tawse Cox from a Will Smith corner.

Smith then made it 2-0 before half time with a great strike from range. It could have been more but for Rangers MOTM, goalkeeper Hayden Nicholls.

Co-manager Tom Inns stepped for the Wanderers due to a few injuries within the squad and played a very solid game. Wanderers centre-backs were very solid, earning a first clean sheet in quite a while.

Conwy Comrades 2 FC Mally 2

This battle of Sunday League giants lived up to all the pre-match expectation that a mini-classic was in store.

FC Mally opened the scoring with a Lee Ellis penalty early on.

Comrades responded positively by going on the attack and had a fair few chances but could not convert.

Eventually persistence paid off when Ste O’Neill made it 1-1.

Few chances at both ends before the break but the half ended on equal terms.

Fifteen minutes into the second half, a ball through from Kai Davies found Dan Williams who made no mistake in slotting home to make it 2-1 to Comrades.

Chances fell to both teams but good saves from Nic Bould and the woodwork denied Conwy and kept it at 2-1 for most of the second half.

Then with minutes to go FC Mally scored the equaliser via Jamie Moorhouse to make it 2-2.
