One of the greatest days in Y Glannau’s history saw them reach the REM Jones Cup final at the expense of an NFA side they had lost to at home in the league just a fortnight earlier.
The St Asaph side’s management got their tactics absolutely spot on, starting off on the front foot and never letting up.
The Rhyl-based visitors did miss a huge chance after 20 minutes, Niall McGuinness played in but his shot went well over.
Y Glannau thought they had gone one-up after Harrison Bellis got in behind and finished well, but his effort was ruled out for offside.
Chris McQuillen then had a shot superbly saved by Stephen Robinson and put the rebound wide.
The home side went 1-0 up after 30 minutes.
A quick throw was taken, Tawse Cox crossed and Harrison Bellis controlled brilliantly before finishing well for his 43rd goal of the season.
NFA came out for the second half determinedly and after a great move McGuinness narrowly missed the target.
Alec Williams then threatened for Y Glannau with a fine strike from distance which Robinson kept out tremendously.
Brad Wright in the home goal then produced two cracking saves.
After 72 minutes the hosts made it 2-0. Williams’ throw was flicked on by Harrison Bellis and the ball fell to McQuillen, who then smashed home.
NFA pressed hard late on, but Wright made another fine stop and a shot from the visitors was blocked on the line by their own player.

Division One leaders Abergele advanced to the final of the REM Jones Cup after a hard-fought victory against a tough Llandudno Amateurs side.
Gele started the game well and took the lead courtesy of a Greg Hilditch penalty.
In an even contest with both teams battling for possession, Amateurs found themselves back on level terms from a penalty of their own scored by Joe Jones.
The teams were all-square at the interval with everything to play for in the second half.
With both teams having chances it was Abergele who took theirs. Jack Hoult with some clever play fed the ball to Sam Ashton who fired into the top corner to make it 2-1 Gele just after the hour mark.
With the final whistle approaching Ricci Thomas hit a crossfield ball to the back post that was met by Ashton to seal the victory for the home side.
