CPD Genod Henllan will aim to become only the fourth North Wales team to reach an FAW Under-16 Girls Cup Final in the competition’s history when they travel to Rhayader Town’s Y Weirgiodd ground on Sunday take on Barry Town United in the semis (2 pm kick-off).
Gerwyn Jones’ side are looking to emulate Caernarfon Town, Prestatyn Girls and Penrhyn Bay as past national knockout winners from the north.
In Barry Town United, they will be facing a formidable team which has won the cup twice in the past.
Formed as recently as 2017, Henllan have come a very long way in just a short time.
Since the start of the 2022-23 season, Henllan have a perfect record of played 12 won 12.
They have scored an amazing 88 goals and conceded just four.
Henllan are currently top of the North Wales Girls League Under-16 table with nine straight wins, netting 66 times and conceding just twice.
In the last round of the Welsh Cup, they saw off South Walians Talycopa Rangers 3-0 and in their most recent encounter beat CPDM Bangor U16 Girls 11-0 in the league.
Their top scorer is Alisha Whitehead-Hughes with 41 goals from just 14 appearances, 25 in the league and 10 in the Welsh Cup, as well as six in the NWCFA Girls Cup.
Captain of the side is Magi Pierce, daughter of former Henllan Summer League net-buster Cled.
