After 15 league matches without a win Hotspur finally broke the hoodoo and claimed three vital points which lifted them off the bottom.

Darren Garmey’s side took a 10th minute lead with a mighty header from Dylan Summers-Jones following a high delivery from the right.

Ben Heald produced a good stop in the Hotspur goal and Charlie Mann struck the post for the hosts before the visitors added a second, Chris Jones lashing home after a game of pinball in Gresford’s defence.

Jay Gibbs made it 3-0 before the break when his fierce free kick from the left proved too good for keeper Matt Busby.

No goals in the second half until deep into added time when Dominic Deacon notched a consolation for Athletic.

Buckley Town 2 Penrhyncoch 1

Captain Josh Jones and Max Moore pocketed the goals which earned Bucks maximum reward against struggling Penrhyn, whose reply came via Jamie Jones.

Moore produced the winner on 76 minutes.

Colwyn Bay 4 Llanidloes Town 2

Craig Lindfield, Tom McCready, Sam Downey and Ryan Edwards were on target for the leaders, but visitors Llanidloes put up a decent battle, responding through a Jamie Breese pair.

Conwy Borough 0 Guilsfield 3

Jamie Hyne and Andy Ford struck in the first half to put Guilsfield in command and Steve Blenkinsop clinched it for the visitors with a third in the second period.

Llandudno 5 Prestatyn Town 2

Gareth Evans delivered a double in an impressive Llandudno triumph at Nantporth.

Toby Jones put the hosts in front on 42 minutes, but Tom Hilditch levelled after 51 before Evans edged Tudno back ahead soon after.

Julian Williams made it 3-1 on 69, but Peter Silcock hit back for the visitors in the 90th to set up a tense finish.

However, Llandudno had two more goals in them, Evans and Marc Williams sealing the spoils.

Mold Alexandra 3 Cefn Druids 4

Adam Stephens (2), Iwan Hardy and an Elliot Quinlan own goal bagged Druids the points at Alyn Park, Mold going close to a point through Rhys Nash (2) and Danny Warren.

Ruthin Town 1 Porthmadog 0

Josh Jones converted a late penalty to get the three points for Ruthin.

Town had won 4-0 at Port the previous weekend, but found the return quite a bit tougher.

Ruthin’s Tom Dyer was sent off midway through the second half and Porthmadog finished the game with 10 men also after Cai Jones was dismissed.
