Jess Jones talks to Grassroots North Wales about her move to Llangefni Town

Young sensation Jess Jones has returned to Llangefni Town where she played in her primary school days.
The 17-year-old made her debut for Cefni as a second-half substitute in Sunday’s 3-2 win over Amlwch Town.
Llangefni manager Dan Gregg is thrilled to have Jess on board as part of a squad which is thriving in their second season in the North Wales Women’s League.
Jess started off with the Bodedern boys team at the age of 6. She then moved to the Llangefni boys team at the age of 8.
Then it was Llangefni girls aged 9 where she won her very first North Wales Cup.
Jess switched to Caernarfon at the age of 11 where she enjoyed some amazing times, helping the Canaries reach the FAW Under-16 Girls Cup semi-final last season and scoring over 50 goals.
Grassroots North Wales caught up with Jess after her winning debut for Llangefni.
Why have you decided to move to Llangefni Town?
It just felt right at the moment with all the travelling on a Friday night and to Caernarfon every Tuesday, especially with my A levels coming up (Jess lives in Gwalchmai, near Llangefni).
How are you settling in at the club so far?
I’m settling in pretty well, I already feel at home there, everyone’s been super welcoming.
Have you spoken to your uncle Marc Evans about the move? What has he said?
Haven’t really had the chance to catch up with him but I’m sure he’s made up
How much did you enjoy your time with Caernarfon Town?

It was the best 7 years, made friends for life there and I’ll never forget the memories we made.
How did your Llangefni debut go? I guess the mood afterwards was elation after beating Anglesey rivals Amlwch Town?

It was the best debut I could’ve asked for, I could tell winning the derby meant a lot to the players, the mood in the changing room afterwards was amazing
What are your ambitions for the rest of this season?
Just to settle in and enjoy my football, and hopefully score some goals
How high do you think Llangefni can finish in the North Wales League?
Easily top 4 with the way everything’s going at the moment
