Penygroes Primos had a good win last week

Adran 1 – Division One – Ionawr 25/January 25

Menai Mavericks 21-27 Pwllheli Panthers
(4-8; 8-16; 13-23; 21-27)

A good battle between two sides in the top five ended in victory for the Panthers.
Trailing by 10 entering the last, Mavericks won that final quarter impressively 8-4, but the gap was too wide to turn around.

Tim o Walis 31-17 Walis Bryncoch
(8-5; 13-9; 24-13; 31-17)

Walis are pushing for the Division One title again

Reigning Winter League champions Tim o Walis could overtake leaders Arfon Ladies if they win their game in hand over the top side.
While Arfon were held to a draw last Wednesday, Tim o Walis saw off fellow club side Bryncoch 31-17.
Just four in front at midway, Tim o Walis turned on the power in the last two sessions to win by 14 goals.

Arfon Celts 24-34 Penygroes Primos
(6-9; 12-19; 16-26; 24-34)

Over the first three quarters, Primos increased their lead before Celts drew the last 8-8 to give the final outcome some respectability.

Arfon Ladies 23-23 Dolgellau
(7-4; 11-12; 17-17; 23-23)

Nothing separated these two at the end of an intense encounter which saw table-toppers Arfon miss a chance to build on their lead.
Arfon took the first 7-4, but Dolgellau hit back to take the second 8-4, giving them a one-goal advantage at halfway.
The teams drew level at 17-17 by the end of the third, which Arfon edged 6-5, then the curtain-closer ended 6-6.

Adran 2 – Division Two – Ionawr 24/January 24

WaliB’s 44-24 Porthmadog
(7-9; 18-14; 30-20; 44-24)

Division leaders WaliB’s actually lost the first 9-7 to unpredictable Porthmadog, but bossed the second 11-5 to lead by four at half time.
Still, the match was far from over, but WaliB’s turned up the heat in the last two quarters, taking them 12-6 and 14-4 to end up emphatic victors.

Walis Midffild 18-21 Wariars Walis
(5-8; 7-11; 13-18; 18-21)

Great contest between the Walis teams, but Wariars held the edge almost throughout, although Midffild will have been pleased to win the fourth 5-3.

Pwllheli Wildcats 20-29 Bethesda
(1-8; 6-16; 12-24; 20-29)

Bethesda vaulted into third place at the expense of the team they beat – Wildcats.
Pesda won the first three quarters, but, in what was the pattern of the week’s matches, losers Pwllheli actually took the last 8-5.

Genethod Nantlle 3-39 Llangefni
(0-8; 1-22; 3-30; 3-39)
