Holywell Town’s JD Welsh Cup quarter-final at Cymru Premier side Penybont next month has been selected for live coverage.

The fixture, which will get underway at 12:45 pm on Sunday 5th February, will be shown live on S4C and Sgorio’s Facebook and YouTube channels.

Goals from Mael Davies and Kostya Georgievsky helped Penybont – the 2021/22 Welsh Cup runners-up – overcome JD Cymru North side Gresford Athletic to book their place in the last eight.

Rhys Griffiths’ side will welcome an-in-form Holywell, who have won their last 14 league games and sit third in the JD Cymru North table.

The Wellmen will be aiming to reach the Welsh Cup semi-finals for the second time in their history. The last occasion they did it was in 2013-14, becoming the first and only third-tier team ever to progress to that stage.

Wins over Llanuwchllyn, Hakin United and Guilsfield have seen them advance to the quarter-finals this time around.

Elsewhere in the quarters, Bala Town host Briton Ferry Llansawel and Airbus UK Broughton travel to Connah’s Quay Nomads, while the winner of the fourth-round tie between Cwmbran Celtic and Penydarren will be rewarded with a home clash against the defending champions The New Saints.
