Adran 1 – Division One – Ionawr 11/January 11

Tim o Walis 33-16 Pwllheli
(11-2; 17-9; 23-13; 33-16)

Last year’s winter league champions Walis stayed hot on the heels of current leaders Arfon Ladies with an emphatic win over Pwllheli.

After losing the opener 11-2, Pwll fought back well to win the second 7-6, but Walis were on top for the rest of the match, taking the final session 10-3.

Arfon Celts 19-24 Arfon Ladies
(9-1; 12-10; 15-17; 19-24)

What a comeback from Arfon Ladies in the derby!

After losing the first quarter 9-1, the table-toppers fought back to take the second 9-3, but still trailed 12-10 at half time.

When Arfon Ladies won the third 7-3 they were ahead overall, but still just two to the good going into the curtain-closer.

However, the table-toppers bossed the last 7-4 to complete the victory. Great game though between two fine sides.

Dolgellau 21-19 Menai Mavericks
(3-2; 11-6; 16-11; 21-19)

Another cracking game where Mavericks produced a superb last quarter to go close to grabbing a draw.

Dolgellau were fairly comfortable at 16-11 ahead come the end of session three, but that final segment saw Mavericks battle back to win it 8-5.

Dyffryn Ladies 23-22 Celts Bach
(3-6; 7-12; 15-18; 23-22)

It was a night of thrillers in Division One – and perhaps this one was the best.

Celts Bach took the first two quarters 6-3 and 6-4 to lead 12-7 at midway.

The second half began with an 8-6 quarter in Dyffryn’s favour to set up an interesting fourth.

And it was Dyffryn who produced the big finish, winning it 8-4 to take the match by one goal.

Adran 2 – Division Two – Ionawr 10/January 10

WaliB’s 30-29 Walis Midffild
(6-3; 16-9; 23-21; 30-29)

The Walis derby was by far the game of the night last Tuesday.

Top of the table WaliB’s looked in command at the halfway stage with a 16-9 advantage.

But Midffild were far from finished, winning the third 12-7 to trail by only two entering the last.

And that finishing session was a thriller – Midffild winning it 8-7 but ending up just a goal behind their opponents at the final whistle.

Bethesda 33-4 Genod Nantlle
(6-1; 10-2; 22-3; 33-4)

The margin of victory was more emphatic for the experienced Bethesda, but Genod Nantlle did manage to score in each quarter.

Porthmadog 32-49 Llangefni
(7-14; 13-24; 20-35; 32-49)

Llangefni racked up a remarkable 49 goals in their success against Port.

The last quarter was an absolute feast – Cefni scoring 14 and Porthmadog 12.

Cymric 7-17 Holyhead
(1-4; 3-9; 6-9; 7-17)

Cymric fought really well for the first three quarters and were not out of it at 9-6 down going into the final act.

However, Holyhead upped their game, winning it 8-1 to clinch a 10-goal triumph.
