Unlucky 13 for St Asaph as they lost for the first time in the league this season after 12 games without defeat.
Second-place Llannefydd were the team to beat them, Gwyndaf Pritchard’s side closing the gap on Saints to four points with a game in hand.
The visitors’ James Williams missed a penalty in a first half which also saw Asaph hit the crossbar.
Llannefydd also had opportunities, but come the interval it remained 0-0.
Playing against the wind in the second half, the hosts became stronger and braver and scored on the counter-attack with Matty Jones finding the net not long before the hour.
St Asaph rallied well and hit the post, but on the break in the 77th minute Llion Morris took advantage from a poor goalkeeping clearance and tapped in the second for the home team.
Llannefydd had numerous other chances after that and scored late on with Jared Roberts pouncing on the counter to put the issue beyond doubt.
