ST Asaph City were crowned champions of the tier 4 North Wales Coast East League Premier Division tonight with a 2-0 win over main title rivals CPD Llannefydd.

Saints’ 13th straight league win – and 15th in a row in all competitions – gave them an unassailable 11 point lead at the summit.

With a record of 23 wins, two draws and just two losses in 27 games, no-one can deny they are truly worthy champions. A year after their relegation from tier 3, they have bounced right back in style.

Having also won the Cookson Cup, Asaph still have a treble in sight with a NWCFA Intermediate Cup Final against Menai Bridge Tigers to come.

Tonight’s hero for Saints was James Williams, who scored on 20 and 67 minutes, both assists provided by Jackson Brewerton.

Roe Plas Meadows was a scene of big celebrations at the final whistle.
