Mountain send Denbigh tumbling, Llangefni continue their winning ways at Felinheli’s expense

Three second-half goals sealed Mountain an impressive three points which ensured they ended the night in third place.
Friday night’s clash at the Essity Stadium saw the hosts, newly-promoted to tier-three Ardal North West this season, end Denbigh’s run of six straight victories.
Chances were few and far between in a goalless first half, Sam Jones firing wide for Mountain, while Jake Walker had an effort cleared off the line for the visitors, while Nathan Brown’s well-struck goal-bound shot was deflected behind for a corner.
It took a controversial goal four minutes into the second half to break the deadlock.
Flint substitute Calyn Spencer went down it appeared outside the box under challenge from Harry Lockley, but the referee awarded a penalty which Kyle Smyth converted.
Town rallied well and created a few chances, the best seeing Walker’s connection from a Paul Fleming cross clip the crossbar.
Mountain went two-up on 71 minutes when sub Corey Smart beat keeper Aaron Jones at the second attempt.
In the 86th minute, Ben Lockley halved the deficit by netting from a corner scramble.
Denbigh pushed for the equaliser but were caught on the break when Ben Brierly made it 3-1 three minutes into added time.

Cefni are up to sixth in the table after making it four league wins in five by seeing off Felinheli at Cae Bob Parry.
Town took a seventh-minute lead courtesy of a Dewi Thomas penalty, but a Jack Cain header on 25 made it all-square.
The hosts made a number of substitutions in the second half, but it remained 1-1 before Llangefni netted twice in injury time.
Matty Jones put away a 94th minute penalty, then soon after Leon Owens made it 3-1 to seal the honours.

Chris Venables’ 215th career Cymru Premier goal via an 89th minute penalty made sure of three points for a Bala outfit which completed an emphatic quick double over Caernarfon.
Having romped to a 5-1 triumph at The Oval on Boxing Day, the Lakesiders followed up with fourth straight league win which keeps them third in the standings.
George Newell broke the deadlock after 16 minutes on Friday night, with Adam Roscrow making it 2-0 before half time.
No further goals in the second period until sub Venables, in his 510th Cymru Premier game, put away that late spot-kick.
