Two more players have been added to CPD Gwalchmai’s squad on the back of goal king Marc Evans’s arrival at Maes Meurig.

Defender Joe Caven and goalkeeper Caron Hughes have been signed by manager of the tier 4 North Wales Coast West Premier Division side, Craig Evans.

Caven, 31, has played for a number of Anglesey’s top clubs, including Holyhead Hotspur, Bodedern Athletic, Trearddur Bay and Gwalchmai previously.

Strong in the tackle, Holyhead man Joe reads the game well and has a lovely left foot.

A calming presence on the ball, this dominant, organised performer can play full back, winger, centre-midfield or centre half.

He was part of the record-breaking Bodedern side which won the North Wales Coast West Premier title last season.

Hughes, who was 31 on Monday, is a vastly experienced goalkeeper with a great track record at all the clubs he has represented.

One of his career highlights was captaining Llanystumdwy when they won the NWCFA Intermediate Challenge Cup in 2015-16.

Caron also excelled at Aberffraw for a few seasons, standing out as an amazing shot-stopper, before joining Llangefni Town.

He now departs Llangefni to try his luck at Gwalchmai, where no doubt his tremendous all-round goalkeeping skills will serve the team well.

Caron married Hannah earlier this year and the couple have two lovely children.
