What a fabulous game at The Mine!

Meliden looked home and hosed with a 5-0 half time lead, but Kinmel Bay fought back furiously in the second period to nearly force a draw.

Deej Hobson’s home side were ruthless in the opening 45 minutes.

Jonathan Terry, assisted by Lucas Edwards, started the goal rush with a 16th minute opener from a penalty box scramble.

Meliden dominated with James Cairns netting twice, in the 28th and 44th minutes.

Macauley Ross struck in the 36th and Liam Astley also scored before the break.

Kinmel Bay redefined their game and produced an astonishing second half, bringing the effective Ethan Evans and Tate Walker off the bench.

Ian Dunn, assisted by Ryan Roberts, made it 5-1 on 52 minutes. Connor Morris struck Kinmel’s second on the hour, Dunn this time the provider.

Morris set up Ryan Roberts for 5-3 and then Meliden had Tom Fletcher sent off in the 81st minute. Bay were awarded a penalty which Morris converted.

Bay had found their stride, but they ran out of time to force an equaliser.

Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs 0 Mochdre Sports 1

A 92nd minute own goal from a Gaz Jones cross was the deciding factor in a tight encounter at Cae Clyd.

In a close-fought first half there were no clear cut chances for either side.

The second half was a much better contest with Mochdre starting the brighter and dominating large parts of possession but creating no major openings.

The first good opportunity fell in the 90th minute to Chris Lloyd, who acrobatically volleyed towards goal but keeper Bradley Roberts parried for a corner.

Following the resulting flag-kick, Jones slid in to recover the ball and put in a cross which was headed into his own net by a Blaenau defender causing wild scenes from the Mochdre players and travelling contingent.

CPD Cerrigydrudion 2 CPD Llannefydd 2

Tomos Tryfan Jones and Cai Aykroyd struck on 36 and 64 minutes respectively for Cerrig, while Jared Jones (47) and substitute Andrew Thomas (77) replied to earn a point for the visitors.

Cerrig manager Euros Gwyn was shown a red card on 70 minutes.

Glan Conwy 1 Llandudno Junction 2

Jack Nettleton (32 minutes) and George Roberts (49) put Junction 2-0 up in this local derby before substitute Reece Roberts bagged a consolation for Glan on 80.

The home side remain bottom with just a single point from 12 games, but they keep putting up good battles.

Llanfairfechan Town 7 Bro Cernyw 0

Daniel Hughes was a hat-trick star for a Llanfair side which rattled up a magnificent seven at Bro’s expense.

Elliot Croston, Lewis Mitchell, Jamie Haggas and a Kai Evans own goal made up the rest of the home team’s tally.

CPD Llansannan 1 St Asaph City 2

Leaders Saints stretched their unbeaten run to 12 games with a narrow success at Llansannan.

Ellis Blench put the visitors ahead on 13 minutes and Jackson Brewerton added a second after 49.

Leon Gierke responded with a late consolation for Llansannan.

Penmaenmawr Phoenix 2 Llandyrnog United 0

Liam Griffiths and Alfie Caldecott delivered the goals which earned Phoenix a welcome three points.

Dion Jones was man of the match as Martyn Jones’ side kept their first clean sheet of the campaign.

NFA returned to winning ways with a 3-1 triumph at Bastion Gardens, Steve Falvey and Liam Bowers (2) with the away goals, Daniel Williams replying.

Loui O’Carroll missed a first-half penalty for the hosts after NFA had taken a 16th minute lead through Falvey.

Bowers scored on 33 and 69 minutes, Williams responding after 65.

CPD Caer Clwyd 3 CPD Y Glannau 3

Joey Fontana’s added time strike earned a Y Glannau a point from a dramatic encounter at Myddleton College.

Rhys Thomas Clark nudged the visitors in front in the third minute, but Clwyd then took over, Elis Davies and Connor Lloyd putting them 2-1 up at half time.

When Francis Roberts put the home team 3-1 ahead on 56 minutes, the Denbigh-based hosts looked in total command.

Time was running out for Y Glannau when Chris McQuillen scored their second after 83, then Fontana grabbed the equaliser in the 91st.

Llandudno Amateurs 5 CPD Henllan 0

Joe Jones maintained his magnificent run with another double to make it 16 goals in his last seven matches for the Amateurs.

Sol Pita, Kyle Johnson and Azz Rogers also hit the net for Carl Nichols and Gaz Sharp’s side.

After the game, Nichols said he was pleased to make it four wins in a row – and 30 goals scored in that sequence – but also praised the young Henllan side for never stopping trying and constantly searching for a consolation goal.

Llysfaen 2 Rhyl Dragons 3

Both sides could take major positives from this game.

Next-to-bottom Llysfaen deserve praise for never giving up their quest to get something from the match, while visitors Dragons also had to display their fighting qualities.

Dragons missed a penalty before Llysfaen turned on the pressure and won a spot-kick of their own which Daniel Batey converted to make it 1-0 half time.

After the break, the visitors introduced the experience of Steve Taylor and Colin Sargerson, which made a difference.

In the 63rd minute, Dale Lewis notched his first goal of the season for Dragons from a Sargerson long throw.

Taylor then scored with a volley from the edge of the area to make it 2-1 on 70 minutes.

Llysfaen came back strongly, in the case of Nihat Sutlubulak a little too vigorously, leading to him seeing red after 72.

Undeterred, Emlyn Robert Jones’ men kept battling and on 75 minutes George Edwards made it 2-2 from a free kick.

The winner came two minutes from time, Sargerson’s long throw flicked on by Dale Lewis and Lewis Evans plundered the winner – his second goal in as many games.

Penrhyn Bay 2 Abergele 10

Jack Hoult scored four for Abergele

Seven second half goals ensured Abergele recorded a far more emphatic victory than it looked like being after a competitive first period.

Abergele had Jack Hoult to thank for breaking the deadlock with a left-foot effort across the keeper.

Penrhyn Bay levelled through Solomon Dickens, but less than a minute later, Hoult latched onto a Tommy Lloyd ball and slotted past the oncoming keeper.

The technically gifted Liam Roberts nonchalantly lofted an effort from all of 40 yards that left the keeper stranded to make it 3-1 at the break.

The second half began as it ended with Gele in the driving seat.

Hoult competed his hat-trick on the hour mark after some clever work out wide from Sam Ashton. Six minutes later Hoult netted again.

Anthony Zoezee got himself on scoresheet after starting on the bench and shortly after he turned provider as Greg Hilditch fired home from close range for 7-1.

Bay clawed one back as Dickens got his second of the day.

A trademark Tommy Lloyd header made it 8-2 and eight minutes later the in-form striker Lloyd curled the ball beyond the keeper with a first-time effort from the edge of box.

Jack Lloyd-Williams atoned for his early penalty miss with a cool finish from 35 yards out.
